Day 98 One Year KJV Bible Reading – Deuteronomy 32:28-52; Luke 12:35-59; Psalm 78:56-64; Proverbs 12:24
Consider Your Latter End
For they [Israel] are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them. O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end! – Deuteronomy 32:28-29
Consider Your latter end. Consider your eternity!!!
That They May Open Unto Him Immediately
Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately. Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them. And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. – Luke 12:35-38
And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath. – Luke 12:42-44
Jesus is coming soon. Both our Old Testament and New Testament scripture passages today warn us to be ready!!!! Be dressed and ready. Stay dressed and ready. Keep your lamps burning so that when He comes and knocks, you can open the door immediately. There won’t be time for repentance and faithfulness. There won’t be time to love others. There won’t be time to forgive and be forgiven or to fulfill your calling. Today is the day, and He has issued His warning!!! Oh, that I would be found faithful and wise!!!
His Strength, His Glory, His People, His Inheritance
And delivered his strength into captivity, and his glory into the enemy’s hand. He gave his people over also unto the sword; and was wroth with his inheritance. – Psalm 78:61-62
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was crucified by His own creation. If that isn’t love!!! I am in awe of that kind of love, but at the same time, it breaks my heart to think of the wickedness in me that delivered Him into captivity. That took His glory and threw it into the enemy’s hand for temporary pleasure. We are a people, His people, so prone to betrayal. I am sure when He looks at His inheritance (us) he still has some anger at the way we take all He has given and throw it away for so little. But then His love speaks and the same love that took Him to that old, rugged cross and the same love that brings anger where anger is due…looks at His creation and draws us again to the place of conviction, repentance, for the sake of renewed relationship.Thank You, Jesus for loving me!!!
Reward for Hard Work
The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute. – Proverbs 12:24
There is a reward for hard work and a price for laziness. Where laziness is there is also the spirit of oppression.
Diligent – characterized by steady, earnest, and energetic effort.
Tribute – a payment by one ruler or nation to another in acknowledgment of submission or as the price of protection.
